A few observations at the end of the NFL’s regular season:
While Drew Brees and Tom Brady both shattered Dan Marino’s passing yardage record, did you notice that there was a third quarterback who also passed for 5,000 yards? Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions. Give him another year and a playoff run and we could add his name to the list of elite quarterbacks.
Speaking of Stafford and Brees, the must-see game of the first playoff weekend for the casual fan: Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints in prime-time Saturday night. The losing team might score more points than the winner in any of the other games.
